Photos of the Sänger Kommers!
Sänger Kommers is an annual gathering of all Northern California German choirs, where we greet all of our old singing friends from as far away as Petaluma, Sacramento, and Stockton (don’t forget Oakland and San Francisco) for an evening of singing, dancing, eating, and drinking.
This year we will took a comfortable tour bus to the
Crowne Plaza Hotel in Concord, where our host, the
Richmond Choir, celebrated its 100-year
jubilee.

About the Germania Choir
To cherish the rich heritage of German folksongs and keep alive the culture of German choir music, the choir of the Germania Verein was founded more than 100 years ago. It started as two separate choirs, a men’s choir and a women's choir, which later joined together to form the mixed choir that it is to this present day. In addition to German music, the choir also practices American songs and even has music written in Spanish, Italian, and Latin in its repertoire.
The choir is directed by the talented Mrs. Diana Maloyan (Mayper). Two-hour practices are held every Tuesday evening at 7:30 PM in the Germania Hall. To join the group, just drop in to our weekly rehearsals. No auditioning is necessary.
The choir usually gives two performances each year, the annual spring concert in May and a Christmas concert. It also participates in the annual Singer's Commerce, an event hosted by the Pacific Singing Society of Northern California.
